Division Head – Corporate Travel Solutions

The African Development Bank is seeking a highly skilled Division Manager to lead its Corporate Travel & Support Services Division. This role is critical to advancing the Bank's transformative agenda for Africa, and the successful candidate will play a vital part in shaping the future of the organization.
The Division Manager will be responsible for managing the Bank's business travel and corporate services, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, and optimizing travel-related expenses. Key functions will include strategic planning, coordination, risk management, and the implementation of best practices in travel management. The successful candidate must have a master's degree in a relevant field, eight years of progressive experience, including three years in a managerial role, and demonstrated leadership in coordinating administrative and business support services. Proficiency in English or French is required, and working knowledge of the other language is an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce travel accommodation and general services policies and procedures to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, with due attention to risk management and employee health and safety.
- Monitor and manage travel budgets, ensuring expenditures are within allocated funds, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Oversee day-to-day logistics, catering, insurance, and transportation operations, including managing staff, travel bookings, and providing logistical support for the Bank's mission and events.
- Negotiate contracts with travel service providers to secure the best service, terms, and prices for the Bank.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs, monitor service delivery, and provide effective solutions.
- Leverage technology to improve business processes and analytics and enhance the client experience, including the use of travel management systems and tools.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or Tourism Management.
- Eight years of progressive experience, including three years in a managerial role in a relevant field, such as corporate services and travel management in a multilateral development bank or not-for-profit context.
- Leadership & Strategic Management: demonstrated leadership in coordinating administrative and business support services with a focus on achieving strategic objectives.
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving: experience in managing priorities under pressure and developing solutions to operational challenges.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Multicultural Collaboration: proven ability to work across functions, manage diverse teams, and engage with stakeholders effectively.
- Effective Communication & Linguistic Proficiency: strong communication skills (verbal and written), with proficiency in English or French and preferably with working knowledge of the other language.
- Competence in the use of standard Microsoft Office Suite applications and SAP.
