We are seeking a Senior Procurement Expert to join our team in Rome, Italy. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our programs and projects are aligned with IFAD's procurement policies and procedures.

Job Description

As a Senior Procurement Expert, you will be responsible for providing strategic analysis and advice on procurement-related issues to support regional divisions' programs and projects. You will work closely with country directors, government officials, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of procurement policies and procedures.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies and plans;
  • Conducting risk assessments and identifying mitigation measures;
  • Providing training and capacity building to staff and partners;
  • Maintaining records and databases related to procurement activities;
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure effective coordination and communication.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A master's degree in business administration, public administration, law, commerce, finance, or a related field;
  • At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in project procurement activities in an international organization;
  • Proven record of supporting and delivering complex procurement programs and projects;
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
