We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Agricultural Development Analyst to join our team at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
About IFADIFAD is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. We invest in rural people, financing programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes.
The Department for Country Operations oversees the origination, design, and management of IFAD investments, including sovereign and non-sovereign operations. Our mission is to deliver high-quality programmes and projects that benefit rural communities.
Job DescriptionThe Senior Agricultural Development Analyst will provide analytical and technical support to our regional teams, focusing on economic and financial analysis, data management, and monitoring and evaluation. You will work closely with our programme staff to develop and implement effective solutions to improve agricultural development outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collating and analysing data to support project design reports
- Providing analytical inputs to corporate regional reports and documents
- Developing creative solutions for effective data management in the Division
- Supporting monitoring and results reporting activities required for Knowledge Management (KM) and portfolio management in the region
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An advanced university degree in economics, business administration, management, social policy research and analysis, rural development, agriculture, agricultural economics, or a related discipline
- At least two years of progressively relevant experience in a role providing data management, data science, and analytical support within an international financial institution, development cooperation agencies, or the United Nations system
- Experience in drafting analytical documents and producing reports on tight deadlines
- Strong skills in economic evaluation, data management, time management, project/programme management, initiative and good judgment, interpersonal skills, verbal communication, written communication, and topical expertise in Programme Management for Agricultural Development
