Principal Board Affairs Officer and Committee Secretary

The African Development Bank is a premier pan-African development institution, promoting economic growth and social progress across the continent. With 81 member states, including 54 in Africa, the Bank's development agenda is delivering financial and technical support for transformative projects that reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
The RoleThis position provides secretariat services to the Boards of Governors, Boards of Directors, and the Committee on Operations and Development Effectiveness (CODE). The successful candidate will contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of these boards by enhancing the decision-making process, preparing background papers, and coordinating committee activities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Chairperson of the Committee on Operations and Development Effectiveness (CODE) in preparing and conducting committee meetings and advising on relevant matters.
- Prepare background papers, analyses, and recommendations for the committee.
- Coordinate committee activities and manage relationships between senior management and committee members.
- Contribute to strengthening the effectiveness of the Committee on Operations and Development Effectiveness (CODE) through research and submission of documents on issues under consideration.
- Populate the Board Dashboard and follow up on committee recommendations.
- Hold a Master's degree or its equivalent in a relevant field.
- Have a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in similar organizations.
- Be proficient in English and French, both written and oral, with strong translation skills.
- Have sound institutional, policies, and operations knowledge.
- Exhibit excellent analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to summarize and synthesize complex information.
