About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Chief Water Development Officer. This is a key role within our organization, and we are looking for someone who can provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to support our water development and sanitation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advisory and technical support to the Director on water development and sanitation issues
  • Support the development and review of Bank's policy and strategic work on water development and sanitation
  • Strengthen Bank's think-tank function and develop and disseminate knowledge on water resources development and management
  • Represent the Department in inter-departmental working groups, water coordination committee, and other meetings related to the water and sanitation sector
  • Coach and mentor junior staff in technical aspects of their work related to water and sanitation sector
Requirements
  • Hold a minimum of a Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Water Supply, Economics, Social Sciences, or closely related disciplines
  • Have a minimum of seven (7) years of extensive and progressive experience in the area of water resources development with a working experience in financial or development Institution
  • Strong experience of the water and sanitation sector
  • Experience in water or sanitation sector development and policy support in developing countries including in Africa
