Construction Project Manager

Duties & Responsibilities: · Lead the Project team to drive the delivery of the project at logical pace and sequence,within budget and quality targets required to meet implementation deadlines· Own the detailedConstruction Plan as well as an overall Project Execution Plan· Obtain all necessarypermits and licenses, required to execute construction activities in accordancewith the conditions of the Government of Guinea's (GoG) permit conditions andthe site's Environmental Management Plan.· Determine employeerequirements and manage sourcing and allocation of workers to constructionsites.· Evaluate constructionmethods and determine cost -effectiveness of plans, using tools, technology andbest -in -class methods· Respond toengineering inquiries from the field as they arise· Responsible forreview, scrutiny and if required modification of scheduling project activitiesand setting work priorities· Responsible for awide range of quality reviews on all forms of project documentation andwork -related packages· Ensure work that isprepared under your supervision is in strict compliance with all applicablelocal, state and government legislation and codes, best practice professionalengineering standards and detailed engineering calculations, and policies,safety codes and codes of conduct · Develop and maintaina project -specific Health and Safety Plan, and monitor, control and report onproject performance as it relates to the planned objectives· Ensure Corporate SHEC objectives are embodied in all project design and constructionactivities· Procure, in the mostcost -effective way, supplies and materials to complete construction projects· Support theimplementation of wide processes, systems and practices, specificallyrelating to safety and construction management· Ensure systems arebeing applied in construction management to control and accurately monitorscope, cost and schedule· Ensure appropriateand qualified personnel are in place and organized in an efficient andeffective manner to execute construction activities· Ensure broad or"out -of -the -box" thinking, and a culture of continuous improvement isallowed to occur with respect to project execution to maximize value · Ensure work productquality meets required standards through direct review and/or third -partyreview · Ensure accurate andtimely progress information is provided to senior management and the Boardin the form of a monthly report· Take the lead on thedevelopment and review of project execution plans and capital estimates· Incorporate anoperational readiness plan in the execution of the project, including theprocurement of critical spares, setting up a stockholding strategy, andtraining employees on operational and maintenance requirements· Integrate newprocessing equipment into existing processing equipment without adverselyaffecting productivity· Take responsibilityfor overall stakeholder management with the objective to incorporate acollaborative management style to satisfy all technical, commercial, financial,and project management functions in the delivery of the project· Take the lead at theweekly project Steering Committee meetings and maintain an up -to -datedecisions, actions and risk log· Present overallproject progress at monthly Investment Committee meetings where required· Develop a monthly progressreport to update the Board of Directors on the progress of major projectmilestonesProfilKnowledge / Skills & Competencies: · Organized with anatural inclination for planning and delivering strategy.· Exceptionalcommunication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.· Ability to lead ExCogovernance sessions to prioritise, monitor and challenge progress and status ofthis most key strategic initiative.· Ability to architectand drive through change in a complex, operationally focused environment.· Ability to influenceand engage senior, geographically and culturally diverse stakeholders movingthem toward a common vision or goal for the project.· Ability to establishand maintain strong relationships.· Proficiency ismanaging budgets, ensuring costs are minimised.· Strong report writingand presentation skills.· Proven ability toeffectively manage resources in direct reporting, indirect reporting andvirtual project team structures, including reassessment and reallocation ofresources in a dynamic multi -project environment, to achieve optimum results.· Ability to managerisks whilst delivering role responsibilities.· Problem solving androot cause identification skills· Previous leadershipexperience including experience in managing EPCM type contractors. · Strong understandingof construction safety and project execution.· Strong understandingof project development and execution process flow within the mining industry.· Strong knowledge ofstandard industry approach to construction, construction management andcontract management.· Competent in the useof MS Project, MS 365 Applications or similar· Knowledge of resourcescheduling software applications. · Knowledge of Finance– Forecasting and Budgeting software. Training / Education requirements: · B.Eng./DiplomaMechanical/Mining/Civil Engineering.· Current DriversLicence. · Senior First Aidcertificate (desirable). Experience required: · Minimum 20 years'experience in mining, at least 10 years in mining position, managing largemining civil and construction projects, including structures, roads and TSFconstruction. · Must have relevantinternational work experience, specifically desired is African and remote siteexperience.· Managing largecontractors, subordinates to ensure safety and quality of execution.· Knowledge ofmaterials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair ofhouses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads. Knowledge ofdesign techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precisiontechnical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge to manageheavy equipment's, good IT skills. Awareness of Health and Safety. Language requirement: · English (Fluent),French (High to Fluent)
