The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a leading global organization dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. As a Senior Financial Management Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting IFAD's mission by providing expert financial management services to our clients.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial management professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a full portfolio of loans and grants, ensuring reliable and sound financial management results for IFAD projects and programs.

Job Description

This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The incumbent will work closely with our clients, colleagues, and partners to provide financial management support, guidance, and training.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing a full portfolio of loans and grants, ensuring reliable and sound financial management results for IFAD projects and programs;
  • Providing technical guidance and advice to clients, colleagues, and partners on financial management matters;
  • Conducting financial management assessments and reviews of project design documents;
  • Representing IFAD in legal negotiations for financial aspects and ensuring compliance with international standards;
  • Maintaining effective and accountable maintenance of data in corporate FM systems;

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with experience working in a similar role or in a related field. They should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will require:

  • An advanced university degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively relevant international professional experience in private or public sector financial management;
  • Excellent knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and procedures, including internal controls, project audit and funds flows;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret and apply complex financial information;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and partners;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region and internationally, as required.

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $80,000 per year, plus benefits and allowances.
