Capacity Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Capacity Development Specialist to join our team at the African Development Bank. As a key member of our department, you will play a critical role in driving inclusive growth in Africa by developing and implementing capacity development programs that enhance the capacity of public, private, and non-governmental sectors to achieve the Bank's High 5s.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy or a related discipline, with a minimum of five years of experience in capacity development, research, and operations. You will have extensive experience in conducting needs assessments, designing training programs, and delivering lectures in areas such as fiduciary affairs, monitoring and evaluation, macroeconomics, financial sector development, and fiscal affairs.
As a Capacity Development Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting Country Capacity Development Needs Assessments (C-CDNAs) to inform the Bank's capacity development mainstreaming effort in Regional Member Countries' programs and projects.
- Developing programs, strategies, and concept notes for capacity development in support of Regional Member Countries.
- Undertaking research on capacity development needs of the public, private, and non-governmental sectors and targeted institutions in Africa.
- Conceptualizing, developing, implementing, and evaluating institutional capacity building and fiduciary clinics (ICFCs) to enhance the capacity of Bank-funded project management stakeholders.
- Managing delivery of capacity development activities such as workshops, seminars, conferences, and roundtable high-level meetings at the Bank's headquarters and in Regional Member Countries.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English or French, with a good working knowledge of the other language. You will also have competence in the use of standard Microsoft Office Suite applications.
