We are looking for a Construction Project Director to lead the successful delivery of major new-build developments from execution through to handover. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a professional who can combine strategic oversight with hands-on delivery excellence.

In this role, you will take ownership of project performance across programme, budget, risk, quality, safety, and stakeholder management. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive commercial and operational outcomes, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience managing large-scale construction projects, with expertise in forecasting, cost control, procurement, contract administration, change management, commissioning, and client engagement. The ability to build high-performing teams and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, authorities, and delivery partners is essential.

If you're passionate about delivering complex projects that make a lasting impact on communities, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the delivery of complex new-build education, hospital, healthcare, and institutional projects from execution through to handover.

•Provide strong leadership to project teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and delivery partners, ensuring accountability and high performance.

•Manage project strategy, programme, logistics, resources, reporting, and site execution to meet contractual and client requirements.

•Own budgets, forecasts, cashflow visibility, cost-to-complete reporting, and resource allocation, taking early action on cost or programme pressures.

•Work with commercial teams to manage procurement, contracts, change control, subcontractor performance, claims exposure, and commercial risk.

•Monitor progress, risks, quality, health and safety, regulatory compliance, commissioning, and handover requirements.

•Maintain strong relationships with clients, authorities, consultants, operators, senior management, and key stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

•Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline; professional membership preferred.

•Minimum 20 years’ construction experience, including senior leadership of large-scale building projects.

•Proven main contractor experience delivering complex new-build education, hospital, healthcare, or institutional projects.

•Strong capability in leadership, programme control, budget ownership, forecasting, commercial management, risk, and stakeholder engagement.

•Experience in West Africa, particularly Côte d’Ivoire, and French language capability would be advantageous.
