Head of Logistics (General Manager) – Ivory Coast

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Head of Logistics to lead the establishment and expansion of logistics operations in Ivory Coast. This role is critical in building a robust logistics network, driving market penetration, and delivering end-to-end solutions aligned with our growth strategy in West Africa.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Business Establishment and Leadership:

•    Lead the setup of logistics operations, including registration, infrastructure development, and operational readiness.

•    Secure office facilities, warehouses, and transportation partnerships.

•    Define strategic vision and establish governance frameworks, SOPs, and performance KPIs.

•    Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Business Development and Revenue Growth:

•    Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy to position the company as a key logistics player.

•    Identify and secure new business opportunities across various industries.

•    Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and authorities, delivering tailored logistics solutions.

•    Drive revenue optimization through competitive pricing models and achieving profitability targets.
Operational Excellence:

•    Oversee comprehensive logistics services, including warehousing, distribution, and intermodal transportation.

•    Ensure compliance with customs, regulatory requirements, and port processes for cross-border operations.

•    Collaborate with shipping partners and port authorities to ensure seamless cargo movement.

•    Manage vendor partnerships to maintain quality and cost-effectiveness.
Financial and Strategic Management:

•    Own the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the operation, ensuring revenue growth and cost optimization.

•    Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.

•    Implement performance metrics and drive continuous process improvements.

•    Ensure compliance with legal, corporate governance, and ethical standards.
 
Required Skills and Experience:

•    10–15 years in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with leadership roles. 

•    Proven experience setting up logistics operations in Ivory Coast or Southern Africa.

•    Background in leading logistics companies (e.g., DHL, Bollore/AGL, CEVA, Damco) is preferred.

•    Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of Ivory Coast's logistics landscape, including warehousing, cross-border trade, and intermodal transportation.

•    Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build and manage teams, drive performance, and influence stakeholders effectively.

•    Financial Acumen: Expertise in P&L management, cost modeling, and revenue forecasting.

•    Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics management systems, CRM tools, and data analysis.
