Job DescriptionThis is an entry-level position for a Financial Analyst within the Syndication, Client Solutions and Africa Investment Forum Department (FIST). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and reporting on private sector and public sector mobilization targets of the Bank Group. Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in sector project appraisal teams to develop, structure, and implement innovative financial solutions;
- Supporting the Client Solutions team in ideating, developing, and processing new financial products for Board approval;
- Assisting in marketing, knowledge transfer, and dissemination of Bank Group financial products;
- Supporting post-execution activities related to capital management transactions;
- Leading routine derivative booking activities.
The Financial Analyst will perform the following tasks under the supervision of the Division Manager and chief/lead analysts:
- Balancing sheet optimization activities;
- Assisting lead analysts in economic and financial modeling underpinning balance sheet optimization transactions;
- Maintaining monitoring of executed significant risk transfer transactions;
- Reviewing calculations and payments of insurance premiums or other compensation payable to risk protection sellers;
- Aggregating and delivering data points for various post-execution reporting;
- Contributing partners into the customer relationship management tool;
- Engaging in knowledge sharing activities of balance sheet optimization transactions.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must have at least a Master's degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Relevant professional experience with demonstrated financial market knowledge is required, preferably in a multinational development institution or a private sector project sponsor. Proficiency in English and/or French is essential.
