In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it

If you are a result-driven person with a passion for providing exceptional client service, then this opportunity is for you We’re looking for a Merchant Account Supervisor to join our dynamic Merchant Success team. You'll be responsible for managing the roll-out of corporate merchant products and supervising corporate merchant activities to ensure effective deployment, branding, training, and transaction rates across a specific merchant portfolio, within our merchant network.
In this role, you'll;
- Deploy and manage corporate merchants across Côte d’Ivoire, including onboarding, training, branding and technical account setup.
- Onboard merchants and ensure they understand how to use our product.
- Monitor the merchant portfolio and their performance.
- Contact and visit merchants regularly, especially when their volume of activity drops.
- Meet with corporate partners’ top management every cycle to review performance and strengthen collaboration.
- Process merchant settlements and requests, and oversee operations to roll out new stores in the city and nearby areas (installation, training, and initial support).
- Conduct regular field visits to ensure smooth operations, compliance with company standards, and gather feedback from users and clients about their needs and pain points.
- Talk to users — interview clients about their needs and problems with regard to merchant payment.
- Report detected bugs to engineers.
- Work closely with other teams at Wave to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with the marketing team on the implementation of promotions, events, and BTL activities for merchants.
- Communicate in writing and verbally about work carried out, prepare notes for meetings, update partners' status, and craft messages to partners.
- Support in growing our operational activities

- Collect and report market information (competition, opportunities, customer feedback).

- Location: You'll work from our office in Abidjan.
- You must have work authorization in Côte d’Ivoire.
- This is a permanent position.

Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a similar field.
- 2+ years experience in a similar position.
- Fluent in French, english will be a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience conducting field-related merchant activities, including acquiring and onboarding merchants and ensuring they meet Wave criteria.
- Experience supporting customers.
