Alternate Underground Mining Manager | Yaouré

• TSX and ASX Listed company The Role Reporting to the Underground Mining Manager, the Alternate Underground Mining Manager will provide leadership, operational oversight, and strategic support across all aspects of the Yaouré Underground operation. Acting as the appointed alternate to the Underground Mining Manager, this role assumes full responsibility for underground mining operations during periods of absence while supporting the successful delivery of the underground project and ongoing operational performance. The position plays a critical role in safety leadership, contractor management, operational execution, mine planning, team development, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
include:
• Acting as the appointed Alternate Underground Mining Manager and assuming full management responsibility in the Underground Mining Manager's absence.
• Providing visible safety leadership and ensuring compliance with site safety plans, mining regulations, and company standards.
• Supporting the successful execution of underground mine plans and designs to achieve operational objectives.
• Managing contractor performance and ensuring activities are delivered in accordance with contract management requirements.
• Driving compliance with weekly, monthly, and long-term mine plans and schedules.
• Identifying operational constraints, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities to improve performance and unlock project value.
• Contributing to strategic planning processes and monitoring key milestones and critical path activities.
• Coaching, mentoring, and developing technical services and underground operations personnel.
• Building collaborative relationships between Perseus and contractor teams to achieve safe and productive outcomes.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives, cost optimisation and operational excellence across the underground mine. About You You are a highly experienced underground mining leader with a strong background in hard rock underground operations and contractor management. You bring a practical, safety-focused leadership style and are confident managing multidisciplinary teams in complex operational environments. You thrive in fast-paced project and operational settings and are motivated by developing people, improving performance, and delivering outstanding mining outcomes. Our ideal candidate will have:
• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in underground mining operations.
• At least 5 years' experience in a mining management or leadership role.
• Strong technical understanding of underground mining methods, including Long Hole Open Stoping (LHOS).
• Demonstrated experience in contractor management and contractor performance oversight.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, mentor, and develop underground mining teams.
• Experience managing operational performance, planning compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence positive operational outcomes.
• A strong commitment to safety leadership, risk management, and operational excellence.
• Previous expatriate mining experience in Africa. It would be beneficial if you have:
• French language skills. Where You’ll Be Working Yaouré Gold Mine is Perseus’s third operation, located in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa. The mine commenced production in December 2020 and achieved Commercial Production in March 2021. In September 2023, the operational life was extended through to at least 2035. The mine is expected to produce approximately 210,000 ounces of gold annually over the next five years, with an average AISC of US$1,104. Perseus is expanding operations with the upcoming Underground Project, Côte d’Ivoire’s first mechanised underground mine, which is scheduled to commence in mid-2025 and extend the life of operations.
