Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing & Business Development
- Develop and implement a structured business coverage model across Cedants, Reinsurance
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in treaty and facultative markets.
- Maintain and grow strategic client relationships to ensure retention and profitable expansion.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market intelligence to inform strategic positioning.
- Drive negotiations and close business opportunities aligned with underwriting guidelines.
- Represent the Company at client engagements, industry forums, and networking events.
2. Underwriting & Portfolio Management
- Underwrite and price New and renewal treaty business and New and renewal facultative business
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure pricing adequacy.
- Manage negotiations with cedants and brokers.
- Track declined business and analyze trends for strategic insights.
- Monitor and manage portfolio and individual account loss ratios.
- Ensure underwriting decisions align with risk appetite and profitability targets.
- Business & Contract Administration
- Oversee contract setup and documentation for treaty and facultative business.
- Ensure accurate facultative and retrocession bookings.
- Support country office administrative functions (regional allocation).
- Support Head Office functions including audits and compliance reviews.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
3. Premium Collection & Credit Risk Management
- Underwrite collectable business to support premium realization.
- Actively support premium collections and reconciliation processes.
- Engage clients on outstanding balances and payment plans.
- Screen and evaluate prospective clients based on financial performance and payment behavior.
- Contribute to onboarding decisions and credit risk mitigation strategies.
4. Claims Involvement
- Provide technical and commercial input on large and complex claims.
- Engage in resolution of delayed or disputed claims.
- Support claims negotiations where necessary to protect portfolio performance and client relationships.
5. Planning, Strategy & Reporting
- Contribute to annual strategic planning processes.
- Prepare periodic business performance reports and portfolio reviews.
- Participate in internal management meetings and performance discussions.
- Provide insights into market trends and growth opportunities.
6. Personal Development & Compliance
- Maintain continuous professional development in underwriting, risk management, and reinsurance.
- Attend relevant training and certification programs.
- Adhere to Company policies, governance standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Manage leave and personal productivity in alignment with business continuity requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, or related field.
- Professional insurance qualification (e.g., ACII, AIIK, CII, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in reinsurance, underwriting, or corporate insurance.
- Proven experience in treaty and facultative underwriting.
- Strong exposure to regional and/or international insurance markets.

- Market Awareness: Ability to monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging risks, and use relevant insights to support client engagement and business development.
- Accountable & Results Oriented: Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, follow through on commitments and meet agreed targets while maintaining accuracy, professionalism and ethical standards.
