We are hiring for Regional Procurement Lead - Africa, where your main responsibility is to lead the procurement function for Africa, ensuring that the organization obtains the best value for money when procuring goods and services direct and indirect.

Role Overview:  The incumbent will manage regional specific spend, understanding the needs and strategic approach for Africa under the region, ensures compliance is met as per Global Procurement Policy, coordinates with Regional and Global Category teams for support and collaboration, ensure timely reports are shared with stakeholders and team members, oversee compliance and coordination of all CAPEX purchases for Africa, occasionally monitor team activities and work load and delegate/reassigns as required.  This role will be responsible for compliance to all policies, and timely close out of any audit findings.    

What you'll do:

  • Drives business standards & cost controls to ensure profitability.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services

  • Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and products that meet the organization's needs

  • Managing procurement budgets and CAPEX orders ensuring that purchasing activities are aligned with financial targets and compliance

  • Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that procurement processes support overall business objectives

  • Monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues that arise

  • Coaching and developing procurement junior members to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

You'll have the following skills and experience: 

  • Experience within a procurement and category management environment

  • Supplier contract terms knowledge (i.e. payment terms, guarantees, insurance, liabilities etc.)

  • Knowledge of source-to-pay processes including Sourcing, Contracting, invoicing, payment and Supplier Management.

  • Experience setting KPIs and monitoring them while driving excellence.

  • Leading and developing direct reports

  • Compliance Driven approach across the Procurement Spends for the country
