The Paralegal will provide essential legal and administrative support to the Legal Department, reporting directly to the General Manager and working under the supervision of the General Counsel. This role is based in Ivory Coast and requires familiarity with OHADA law, proficiency in French English, and experience in corporate and commercial legal matters. The Paralegal will assist in preparing legal documents, conducting research, maintaining legal records, and liaising, with judicial and notarial offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare legal filings and documentation for judicial proceedings and distraint orders.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal department, including record keeping and agenda management.
  • Conduct legal research and monitor legal directives relevant to Ivory Coast and OHADA law.
  • Communicate with courts, executory, and notarial offices.
  • Assist in drafting notices and basic legal support for internal departments.
  • Translate and interpret legal documents in French as needed.- Conduct due diligence reviews on suppliers and contractors, including background checks, verification of legal standing, and compliance with regulatory requirements, as directed by General Counsel & General Manager

Communication and Working Relationships

The Paralegal will interact with internal departments such as Operations, HR, and Finance, as well as external legal entities. Strong communication skills in French and English are essential for effective coordination with local authorities and legal institutions.

Operating Environment

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in law or legal studies.
  • 4+ years of experience in a legal support role, preferably in Ivory Coast.
  • Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of OHADA law and local legal frameworks.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
