Financial Management Expert for Agricultural Development

International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. We invest in rural people by financing programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes.
About the RoleWe are seeking a seasoned Financial Management Expert to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a full portfolio of loans and grants, ensuring reliable and sound results of the financial management of IFAD projects and programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee a loans and grants portfolio at regional and country level, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with international standards.
- Participate in project activities, including financial management assessments and review of Project design documents, assessing the appropriate use and reliance on country systems.
- Represent financial matters for IFAD in financing agreement negotiations and provide inputs to legal documents and proposed covenants required to reflect sound FM arrangements.
- Monitor financial management compliance in-country as part of supervision or implementation support missions and financial progress monitoring of ongoing projects.
- At least 5 years of progressively relevant sound international professional experience in private or public sector financial management, accounting, auditing, finance, economics, financial analysis, business administration, and project administration.
- Excellent knowledge of project financial management, internal controls, rural investments, project audit, and funds flows.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to liaise between the business and technologies to understand business problems and needs, document requirements, and identify solutions.
- High sense of proactive initiative-taking and good judgement, with strong systemic and structured thinking, able to identify and dissect problems into components and formulate a comprehensive set of creative viable and sustainable solutions and strategies.
The estimated salary for this role is around $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
