Division Manager, French and English Translation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Division Manager to lead our French and English Translation Division. As a key member of our Language Services Department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic approach to translation and editing services, ensuring high-quality output and meeting the Bank's development mandate for Africa.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the French and English Translation Division, overseeing all translation activities and providing advisory services.
- Set objectives, formulate policies, and establish priorities for the Division, defining and monitoring key performance indicators.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate all translation and editing activities, optimizing the use of human, financial, and technological resources.
- Monitor and enforce performance and efficiency targets, leading Bank-wide advocacy to promote the use of both official languages.
- Assess training needs, monitor, and evaluate staff performance, recommending personnel actions to the Vice President.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of CAT tools, coordinating the development of terminological databases and translation memories.
- Ensure high-quality editing of Bank documents, aligning editing with the Institution's Style Guide and ISO Standard 9001:2015.
- Master's degree in Translation, Modern Languages, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of eight years of relevant working experience in a multilateral finance institution or similar organization, with three years in a managerial or highly supervisory position.
- Proven experience in managing high-volume work with short deadlines, leading teams to deliver under pressure.
- Strong managerial, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to think strategically and negotiate effectively.
- Ability to communicate at a high level in English and French, with proficiency in another continental language an advantage.
