Established in 1964, the African Development Bank is the premier pan-African development institution. We promote economic growth and social progress across the continent. Our development agenda delivers financial and technical support for transformative projects that reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Our Ten-Year Strategy (2024-2033) focuses on five major areas: energy, agro-business, industrialization, integration, and improving the quality of life for Africans. The Vice Presidency for Economic Governance and Knowledge Management Complex leads the Bank Group in generating, analyzing, disseminating, brokering, and implementing relevant knowledge solutions.
The complex's core mandate is to prioritize knowledge solutions that respond to priority development challenges facing regional member countries. These solutions involve RMCs in both planning and implementation, focusing on research, country diagnostics, policy dialogue, advisory services, economic and sector knowledge work, statistical systems improvement, public financial management and governance operations, capacity development, and knowledge dissemination.
Our Office of the Chief Economist and Vice-President for Economic Governance and Knowledge Management provides advice and analysis to the President, Senior Management, and Board of Directors on key development issues facing Africa and the Bank. This includes research programs, economic issues, financial and non-financial products, knowledge dissemination, and communication.
