About the Position:
The African Development Bank is seeking a seasoned investment professional to fill the role of Chief Investment Officer. This is a challenging opportunity for an individual with extensive experience in managing complex fixed income portfolios.

Job Description:
As the Chief Investment Officer, you will be responsible for managing multiple fixed income investment portfolios for several entities of the African Development Bank Group. Your primary objective will be to capital preservation, profitability, and liquidity maintenance according to the investment guidelines of each specific entity.
Key functions include portfolio management, cash collateral portfolio management, leading the development of the investment process, and implementing the strategic asset allocation. You will also lead the Bank's short-term funding strategy and its execution by issuing commercial paper (CPs) to cover short-term liquidity gaps.
Additionally, you will lead the credit analysis process, selecting external portfolio managers, reviewing their activities, and conducting regular meetings to ensure adequate management of the Bank's assets. You will also contribute to the formulation and review of financial policies, ensuring that process manuals are up-to-date, and providing technical assistance to other divisions in areas of risk hedging, fixed income trading, and valuation of bonds and derivatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you must have at least a master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or another relevant quantitative discipline. Relevant professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) are highly desirable.
You should have a minimum of seven years of relevant and practical experience in International Capital Markets with a strong emphasis on active management of complex fixed income portfolios, denominated in one of the following currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, RMB.
A strong knowledge across a wide range of asset management areas, including strategic asset allocation, Treasury instruments, structured products, Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) investing and local currency investing, is essential. Proven credit analysis and financial modelling skills; strong quantitative skills are required.
Salary:$120,000 - $180,000 per annum
